On facebook how do you change your name?

some of my friends have used fancy writing on their name and used a different font how are you able to do that. do you have to leave your real name the same but change your username so when people go on your profile they see the name you made up.On facebook how do you change your name?
To change your personal details click the ';settings'; next to your name when logged in. Your personal details will be opened, click ';change'; on the right side of the particular detail you would like to change. Be noted that you can only change your USERNAME once, so make sure that the new username is what you really want to use.

Actually, pressing ALT key and combination of any numbers will create a special character
